Position: Project Engineer

Location: Cooma, NSW

We are currently seeking an experienced project engineer to join our Government Client’s team in Cooma!

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of project planning, development and implementation for a range of projects, including developing project plans, coordinating resources, managing budgets, meeting reporting requirements, and supporting project-related activities, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope in line with established agency project management methodology
  • Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to engage stakeholders and ensure project deliverables are met
  • Manage a project ensuring compliance with governance and quality requirements, to successfully deliver all key project/s milestones and outcomes
  • Manage and develop contracts for required projects, and manage contractors / consultant for works, including site works.

Skill Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Project Management or equivalent
  • Extensive practical experience (min 5 years) in Project Management of capital construction projects
  • Recent experience in managing contracts to ensure compliance, including identification of
    deliverables and budget management
  • Recent experience in on-site management of contractor to ensure compliance with WHS, Quality, Environment and Risk requirements
  • Experience in community engagement and stakeholder management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation including but not limited to Work health and Safety Act 2011 and Regulation, Codes of practice, Protection of the Environment Operations Act, National Construction Code (Building Code of Australia)
  • Current and valid Class C Drivers License
  • Diploma of Project Management – desirable
  • Demonstrated understanding of contract and commercial management processes
  • Experience in the use of Corporate Software systems – desirable
